Food Not Bombs
A couple weeks ago we shared about the efforts of Tampa Bay Mutual Aid to support those affected by Hurricane Ian. Alongside them, standing in solidarity, was another organization, called Food Not Bombs.
Food Not Bombs is "trying to inspire the public to participate in changing society and focus our resources on solving problems like hunger, homelessness and poverty while seeking an end to war and the destruction of the environment." Locally Tampa's Food Not Bombs chapter works to provide mutual aid survival programs assisting the houseless and hungry, and stands in opposition to the violence of war and poverty. In practice, they share primarily vegan and some vegetarian meals with the hungry on Monday & Wednesdays @7pm in downtown Tampa (905 N Marion St “the bubble” near the bus stops).
Interested in getting involved? They have meetings every month @ the same location in downtown Tampa. You can also follow them on Instagram or Facebook. So if you share similar values of community, peace, cooperation, dignity, a nurturing of the environment, we encourage you to connect with them locally!
